You’re invited to Walk for Justice NSW 2023 to celebrate 645,000+ pro bono hours donated by the legal sector to social justice last year

Lace up your joggers: on Tuesday 16 May, National Pro Bono Day, we’re inviting law firms, legal practitioners and our community to join us for the Walk for Justice NSW 2023 in Sydney!

The Walk for Justice NSW is all about celebrating positive impact that legal pro bono work has on social justice in Australia, including the 645,000+ pro bono hours donated by the legal sector every year.

For another year running, we’re hosting the Walk for Justice NSW with our friends at the Refugee Advice & Casework Service, a community legal centre dedicated to providing free legal service to refugees, people seeking asylum, and displaced and stateless persons.

How to get involved in the Walk for Justice NSW 2023

  • Join the Walk for Justice NSW 2023: On Tuesday 16 May, we’ll meet at 12.30pm at Queen’s Square (near the Supreme Court of NSW) to begin the walk
  • Sponsor a law firm’s team: Sydney’s major law firms have generously put their hands up to raise funds for the National Justice Project and the Refugee Advice & Casework Service in this year’s Walk for Justice NSW – which law firm will raise the most? 😉
  • Make a direct donation: You can make a direct donation on the Walk for Justice NSW 2023 webpage and it will be shared 50-50 between the National Justice Project and the Refugee Advice & Casework Service

As a not-for-profit legal service, we’re passionate about the power and impact of pro bono work. In fact, our organisation alone provides over 19,000 hours of pro bono legal representation every year.

Our friends at the Refugee Advocacy & Casework Service (RACS) are equally passionate. Running now for 35 years, RACS provides free legal advice, assistance and representation for asylum seekers in Australia, and independently advocates for refugee and asylum seeker rights.

We look forward to seeing you at the Walk for Justice NSW on Tuesday 16 May!
